Learn More About Esketamine Nasal Spray For Depression

Esketamine Depression Treatment in Tampa and Wesley Chapel, Florida

Residents of the Tampa Bay Area experiencing depression can find solace at our Ketamine Clinic, staffed with friendly and highly skilled providers. As the premier ketamine therapy clinic in Tampa, we offer an alternative to conventional treatments that may prove ineffective or insufficient for individuals facing mental health challenges like yours!

S-Ketamine therapy consists of a series of small doses delivered through nasal spray. Clinical studies have demonstrated that S-Ketamine is effective for depression when used alongside an antidepressant. The recent revelation of S-Ketamine's benefits for depression has made it one of the most sought-after treatments in today's medical landscape. While this anesthetic has been utilized by medical professionals for decades, its mental health applications were only unveiled during research into its impact on moods and emotions.

S-Ketamine is a medication that begins to work almost instantly. It interacts with NMDA receptors in your brain, enhancing glutamate activity and transmitting signals to other cells throughout the body, resulting in improved mood regulation more effectively than ever before!

The Advantages of Esketamine Therapy

S-Ketamine offers significant benefits for numerous individuals struggling with depression, as it can alleviate symptoms within hours rather than weeks. Its rapid action often leads to relief after just one session! However, this does not replace the need for ongoing support from a psychiatrist or psychologist; initial trial results have indicated the treatment's continued effectiveness during follow-up visits as well.

It’s important to note that predicting an individual's response to S-Ketamine therapy is not feasible. The effects may not be enduring, and additional treatments are likely necessary. While conditions such as PTSD and anxiety may also be improved with Ketamine products, Esketamine is currently only FDA-approved for Major Depressive Disorder.

S-Ketamine represents a crucial alternative for treating depression. If you are experiencing depression and have yet to find relief with traditional medications, it may be worthwhile to explore S-Ketamine therapy. Residents in and around the Tampa area are encouraged to visit our website or contact us for a comprehensive evaluation.

What Can You Expect From the Spravto Therapy Process?

During your treatment at our Tampa facility, you'll be seated comfortably in a reclining chair while we administer the therapy. Some patients may encounter mild side effects, including feelings of detachment, a floating sensation, or a temporary alteration in their perception of reality and time. However, these experiences are fleeting and will diminish as soon as the treatment concludes. After each session, we recommend that you take some time to rest until any potential side effects have dissipated. For your safety, we always require that a family member or friend accompany you home, allowing you to continue your relaxation.

S Ketamine Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Esketamine?

Ketamine is a controlled substance, used for decades in Anesthesia and recently in Psychiatry, to provide rapid improvement for symptoms of depression, without the delayed onset or side-effects of traditional antidepressants.

Ketamine is a revolutionary new treatment for depression. It works quickly and has minimal side effects compared to other current treatments. It was traditionally done as an Intravenous infusion which required extensive monitoring and expense. A newer intr-nasal treatment route called Esketamine allows for lower doses, making the process safer and more accessible as insurance covers it.

  • How does Ketamine or Esketamine work?

Depression is a common, severe, and potentially life-threatening disorder. Several preclinical and clinical studies suggest that the glutamatergic system is involved in the mechanism of action of antidepressants. The non-competitive NMDA antagonist like ketamine or esketamine has been shown to have a rapid (hours) therapeutic effect in severe depression or treatment-resistant depression. Intravenous (IV), intramuscular, sublingual, or oral administration of subanesthetic doses of ketamine results in rapid, robust, and relatively sustained antidepressant effects, including the quick resolution of suicide ideation. The most recent formulation of ketamine is intranasal Esketamine or Spravato, which is currently the only formulation of ketamine derivative and route of administration approved for depression by the FDA.

Imagine that brain circuits are like busy highway intersections, with looping exits and entrances carrying information traffic at rush hour. With stress, the traffic increases, and the wear-and-tear repair crews that fill potholes can’t keep up. Traffic piles up and slows down. Such a process can produce mood to slow down and cause depression in the brain. Esketamine waves traffic around the bottlenecks jump-starts the natural repair processes, and within days, sometimes within hours, the brain impulse traffic breaks through and starts flowing again.
